Media Literacy is an eclectic field drawing people from many different disciplines and across the broad educational and human services spectrum.

But all are characterized by their passion and commitment to the most important task in our 21st century global media culture: bringing media literacy education to all 50 million students in the United States, their parents, their teachers and others who care about youth.

NAMLE has four categories of members

  • Individual Members are its strength - teachers, librarians, researchers, community educators, parents -- and students!
  • Full time students may join at the basic membership rate.
  • Lifetime members are friends and colleagues who want to support the future of media literacy education.

Together, NAMLE's membership weaves a diverse network of committed women and men, each respecting one another's unique contributions but all sharing the common vision of advancing media literacy education as a new vision of literacy for the 21st century.
